FAQ

What does 'double-shell' cup design mean?

The ear cup uses a two-layer shell with a swivel cup lined in soft foam, which the manufacturer positions as improving noise reduction versus a single-shell cup. We haven't independently verified the acoustic mechanism beyond the tested SNR/NRR figures above.

Why is FM-2E labeled differently from the other EM-5002 variants?

FM-2E is the cap-mounted version of this shell family as shown on the source catalog page, using a different SKU prefix than the rest of the EM-5002 series. We group it here because it shares the same ear cup and acoustic family as EM-5002 — treat the SNR/NRR above as the FM-2E-specific rating, not the EM-5002 base rating.
